I researched and found some owners of the device fixing their issues by unplugging the battery. I went to do this today and found that one of the screws (which are NOT standard Phillips head, they are the star or Torx screws) was stripped. From the factory, one of the screws was stripped and I could not get it out. I was barely able to reach inside with tweezers and disconnect the battery cable. I was able to do this and the device turned on and booted to the games menu and the battery showed 40%. I now have it charging and am hoping it will recover.
The other thing I don't like about the device is the headset port. To get sound from it I have to push the connector toward me to hear anything. When I release it to play games there goes the sound. This thing really needs built in Bluetooth. In 2021 how is this not in the unit? The Retroid Pocket 2 had wifi and bluetooth built in and cost $20 less than the Anbernic 351P.
I am starting to reconsider purchasing Anbernics next handheld, the rumored 552. Besides, the upcoming Odin console looks way better.
I love rc cars and handheld game consoles. I find that online reviews always show these devices out of the box and always gloss over things like headset ports. No one ever tries to use these features and report back as to how they work (or don't). Also, more importantly is how does the device work 1 year later. Electronics always look nice out of the box but then 6 months (or less) later it breaks internally and can't be used. I wish my country wasn't so idiotic so they could produce quality electronics, but that will never happen.
